The ideal location to get a trucking job in North Carolina may be close to home. Basically if you consider a locally based trucking company you may be able to be home more frequently if you are a long haul truck driver. However if you are a non-driver then a trucking company with a facility in North Carolina makes sense.
Trucking jobs will always be needed in the United States. Driver jobs of big rigs can never go away as it is not possible. Therefore companies going to other places or sending their jobs to other places is not likely.. One an economy has slowed however some jobs can disappear until things pick up again that need to be delivered. With reguard to the actually truck drivers it appears there is generally higher turnover then in some other fields.
